Jharkhand Olympic Association

After the creation of the State of Jharkhand, the Jharkhand Olympic Association was created in 2000 and got affiliation from Indian Olympic Association in 2000. The State contingent first participated at the 32nd National Games at Punjab and won 6 Medals. Later on Jharkhand Olympic Association submitted a BID to host 34th National Games in 2007 which was allotted to the State but could only host it in 2011. At 33rd National Games at Guwahati in Feb 2007, Jharkhand Players won 17 medals at Guwahati National Games.

In 2011 Jharkhand hosted the best ever National Games and Jharkhand won 118 Medals and placed at 5th Place in overall ranking. This event was witnessed by over 5 lack person every day. 34th National Games was organised at 3 places in Jharkhand. Ranchi hosted the maximum events whereas Jamshedpur &Dhanbad hosted few Games.

In 2015 Jharkhand participated at Kerala National games and also won 22 Medals. In 35th National Games there was no Government Support to JOA but thanks to the President Mr R K Anand and few active members we could participate.

Jharkhand Olympic Association has presently 31 State Sports Association affiliated and 22 District Olympic Association affiliated to it.
